Multimedia Center Regulations
Article 1. General provisions
1. Multimedia Center (hereinafter - "Center") is an independent structural unit of the Caucasus International University (later "University").
2. The Center shall conduct its activities in accordance with the Constitution of Georgia, the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, the Charter and the Regulations of the Caucasus International University, the other normative acts of Georgia and this Regulation.
3. The Center is accountable to the Chancellor of the University within its competence.
Article 2. Multimedia Center's objectives, tasks and functions
1. The objectives of the Center:
A) Facilitate the teaching of the University Journalism Specialization;
B) Facilitate teaching and development of practical subjects provided by the University Journalism Specialty Programs;
C) Ensure access to modern media technologies for the journalism specialty students;
D) preparation and circulation of competitive media products;
E) Promote national consciousness and formation of civil consciousness.
2. Tasks of the Center:
A) Development of practical skills in the journalism specialty students and promote their development;
B) Creation of media products based on lecture courses;
C) Visualization of scientific and research processes;
D) Production of educational-scientific, educational-cognitive and artistic-documentary audio, print and video media products;
E) Creation, update and development of media archive;
F) Cooperation with other structural units of the university;
G) Cooperation with media outlets to implement joint projects and spread media products created on the basis of the center.
2. Tasks of the Center:

3.Functions of the Center:
A) Prepare publications. Locate them in the university and / or various magazines and newspapers in the Internet;
B) Prepare radio-stories and programs. Locate them on the University website and / or on various radio companies broadcasting in Internet media;
C) Preparation and placement of photographs at the University website and / or various media outlets. Participation in university and other exhibitions;
D) Production and placement of TV stories, programs, films, commercial and social advertising clips on the university website and / or on TV channels, as well as in the Internet;
E) Updating the Platform of the Multimedia Center at the University website with materials prepared by the Center.
F) Sorting, archiving and systematizing the archive film-telecoms of the center, moving them into digital format;
G) Carrying out other activities permitted by law and the internal acts of the University in order to achieve the goals and objectives set out in the Regulations.
Article 3. Multimedia Center Structure
1. The Multimedia Center is headed by the Head of the Multimedia Center of the Caucasus International University.
2. Head of Multimedia Center is appointed by the Chancellor of the Caucasus International University.
3. Head of Multimedia Center:
A) supervises and directs the activities of the Center;
B) submits the Center's staff schedule and candidates to the Chancellor for the approval;
C) distributes functions and duties among the staff of the Center, provides instructions;
D) develops the Action Plan of the Center and submits it to the Chancellor for approval;
E) submits a report concerning the activities of the Center to the Chancellor;
F) submits proposals to the Chancellor of the University on the internal structure of the Center, the staff, the organization of work, the promotion of employees or the imposition of disciplinary liability;
G) is responsible for the lawfulness of the activities carried out by the Center;

J) represents the Center in implementing its rights and obligation;
K) organizes the implementation of the function assigned to the Center by this Regulation;
L) is responsible for fulfilling the functions and tasks imposed on the center;
M) implements this provision, the legal acts of the University and other functions defined by the decisions of the management of the university.
4. If the Head of Multimedia Center is temporarily unable to carry out his / her powers, his / her powers are exercised by the Deputy Head of the Multimedia Center.
5. The Deputy Head of the Multimedia Center on the proposal of the Head of the Center shall be appointed by the Chancellor of the university from academic personnel or invited lecturers.
6. The activities of the Center are carried out by persons appointed for the positions envisaged by the staff schedule.
7. The staff and positions of the Multimedia Center are approved by the Chancellor of the University on the proposal of the Head of the Center.
8. A person may be appointed as a Deputy Head of Multimedia Center, Producer and Correspondent if he/she is a member of the university academic / invited staff and a graduate of Caucasus International University.
9. For the purpose of promoting the Optimization of Multimedia Center’s activities and stimulating the successful students of and Journalism Program, persons appointed to the position of a correspondent of the Center shall be subject to possible annual rotations.
10. Functions and responsibilities of the staff of the Center shall be determined by labor agreements. (subordination, duties, responsibilities, reporting, and qualification requirements in accordance with the Multimedia Center job description , Appendix # 1)
11. Remuneration of the staff of the Center shall be determined by labor agreements.

Article 5. Multimedia Center Property
1. For the purpose of implementing its functions, the Center uses the real and movable property of the university.
2. The Technical Director of the Multimedia Center shall receive the equipment necessary for the activities of the Center (television and photo cameras, lighting, installation equipment, other equipment needed to equip the studio) and is responsible for its accounting, care and storage.
Article 6. Multimedia Center Finances
The sources of funding of the Center are:
A) targeted funding provided by the university budget;
B) revenues received from grants and projects;
C) revenues received from the performance of the contract;
D) revenue received as a gift intended for multimedia center by the rule established by the legislation;
E) any income not prohibited by law.
Article 6. Final Provisions
1. Reorganization and liquidation of the Center, other structural changes and amendments and additions to this provision may be made by the Chancellor of the University on the proposal of the Head of the Multimedia Center.
2. The Chancellor of the University may independently change the contents of the separate articles of this regulation and shall notify the Center.
