If we look at ourselves from the perspective of our parents, who even could not dare to dream about modern computer technologies and brand new communication networks, we are in an unimaginable future. The things which provoked fright in them, is widely used and acceptable nowadays. The 21st characterized by the dynamic development of computer technologies. For the modern youth mobile network and internet have become widely available and they represent the component parts of their every-day life. Just 15 years ago, when I was a student of journalism, in spite of the existence of internet, we had insufficient technical equipment for studying, just two cameras. By that time only very special mobile phones had cameras, and even the ones with it were useless to us. As the result of internet and technological advances society faced new challenges. The development of new technologies has increased the demand for journalists who are able to work for multi-platforms – can produce texts as well as audio and video products. Furthermore, they can combine graphics, texts and audio in such a way that might be suitable for any platform: website, mobile, social network, press, radio and television, audio and video cassettes. Our aim is to familiarize Caucasus International University students with the new technologies in journalism and by using these technologies prepare journalistic works. In order to achieve this aim, multimedia centre is equipped with brand new techniques. Initially, students are assisted by academic staff as well as technical personnel. After acquiring basic skills, students produce multimedia materials independently. The technical resource of the centre enables students to work on live regime; in addition, record and upload talk shows and programmes on the website. Students’ interesting offers or initiatives will be encouraged from our side. All your ideas will turn into a multimedia product immediately and will create a start point for complicated career of a journalist. Do not forget – Caucasus International University is the space, where your education, together with theoretical knowledge is strengthened by practical skills.
